HSA credit cards

At the beginning of each year, the terms and conditions of the Health Savings Account are subject to change. Since the terms and conditions for HSA benefits are ever-changing, they can be difficult to understand year after year. We have simplified the terms and conditions of this year’s HSA benefits for our patients to ensure that they know exactly what is included and covered while avoiding unexpected bills throughout 2021.

What’s Covered in 2021?

Beginning January 1, 2021, HSA dental benefits will be applicable to:

● Cleanings
● Sealants
● Fluoride treatments
● X-rays
● Fillings
● Braces
● Extractions
● Dentures
● Nightguards (for prevention of overnight teeth grinding)

Notably, some dental cosmetic procedures may be approved if their purpose is to correct a deformity or scar resulting from a relevant oral injury, accident, or disease. Additionally, some oral hygiene products like electric toothbrushes, fluoride toothpaste, or mouth rinses may also be reimbursable.

It is important to remember that regardless of whether or not you have met your deductible, telemedicine is included in HSA benefits. The annual limit for the overall deductible in 2021 has been adjusted to $4,800 for individuals and $9,600 for families.
